TranscribeAnything is built so that we cannot see your data. Audio, video, and transcripts are processed entirely on your Mac by Apple's on-device speech engine — there is no upload, no account, and no server that receives your content. This policy explains the small amount of information that does exist around the app, and what happens to it.
Everything you transcribe — files, recordings, system audio, and the resulting text — is processed and stored only on your Mac. It is never transmitted to us or to any third party by the app. We could not access, recover, or disclose your content even if asked to, because it never reaches us.
The app connects to the internet for exactly three things:
1. Per-language speech model downloads, handled by macOS the first time you use a language.
2. Fetching web links you paste — the same request your browser would make to download the file. The audio is then processed locally like any other file.
3. Checking for app updates.
None of these transmit your audio, transcripts, file names, or any record of what you transcribed.
TranscribeAnything is sold through the Mac App Store. Apple processes the payment and knows what Apple always knows about your purchases; we receive only a confirmation that a valid license exists. We never see your payment details, and there is no TranscribeAnything account — your license lives with your Apple ID.
The app contains no analytics on your content and no tracking of what you transcribe. If your Mac is set to share crash reports with developers (an Apple system setting you control), we may receive technical crash logs from Apple — stack traces and device info, not your audio or text.
This website (c26l.com) runs no analytics and is covered by the site-wide C26 Labs privacy policy. The website and the app are separate: nothing from the app feeds the website.
Under the CCPA/CPRA, California residents can ask what personal information we hold, and ask us to correct or delete it. For TranscribeAnything users the honest answer is: aside from any emails you have sent us, we hold none — your content is on your Mac, and your purchase record is with Apple. We never sell or share personal information. To exercise any right, or to have your support correspondence deleted, write to us through the contact form. The same treatment applies wherever you live.
The app is not directed to children under 13 and we knowingly collect no personal information from anyone — children included.
If this policy changes, the date above changes with it, and material changes will be noted here. Questions: use the contact form · C26 Labs LLC, Los Angeles, California.
